Leaving Hawaii and Coming Home (12)

Well we had to check out of our room at noon but our flight out wasn't till 9pm. Yup, we did a lot site seeing. First we had about a half loaf of bread left so instead of throw it away like Trent wanted, we went and fed the birds.
 Little morning doves.
 Pile of pigeons.
Once we were out of bread we sat down and listened to this group play songs. Then this guy was like hey are you Angel Pablo to a guy in the audience. He said yes and that he would sing for us. He was the original oscar mayer wiener kid, he was on the Bob Hope show and a famous opera singer. Pretty cool!
 Finally time to leave.
Beat ya! Got through security first, without a body scan!
 The final plane home wahoo!
 Chad modeling his souvenirs.
Brian didn't want to wear his clothes, but the hat was cool.
Then sissy saw extra clothes laying around and had to put them on. What a funny little girl.

Back to the Hilton (11)

So our adventure buddies left us because they had to go home. We had to find stuff to do to fill our day before we shipped out also. We decided to go back to Hilton and snorkel some more.
 We were happy we did.
We thought we had already seen this area but we didn't.
This was a familiar site for me. =)
 Swimming around.
 Just relaxing.
Now to walk around and see what else we missed.
 Cool bird.
 A PENGUIN?!
 Cute turtles.
 Some more beautiful waterfalls.
 What a good picture.
 Lucky Tiki!!! Come on work!!!

Pearl Harbor and Pineapple Plantation (10)

We came to Pearl Harbor and it reminded us when we were in Hiroshima. Trent said "Wow, do you realize we've seen both sides now". Pretty humbling.
Boat ride out to the U.S.S. Arizona.
 Going in to the memorial.
 The smoke stack.
There is a Rawson on the wall. I better find out if I was related.
The oil that the USS Arizona is leaking.
 Ready to go?
The pineapple plantation. They have the best pineapple ice cream ever! Trent had a pineapple float (pineapple juice with pineapple ice cream) he said it was really good. Here we learned how to pick out a pineapple, cut it correctly and that you can grow one at home. We also learned that it takes a pineapple 2 years to grow. Yup, not going to happen in my house...lol.

Sharks cove and Turtle Bay (9)

This is part of sharks cove but not the part you snorkel in. This was the clearest water we had.
Getting out to the snorkeling area was a little bit tricky. It was lava rock so you did NOT want to slip.
 See super clear.
This guy was a HUGE fish. To bad we didn't have Trent leg down there right by him. He just hung out and looked at us, and we stared at him.
 Lots of cool fish.
The water was a little cooler than other areas but well worth it.
Slowly making our way back to the beach.

TURTLE BAY
This is the surfing area. Lots of big waves.
There is not much of a beach here, just big rocks.
Such a beautiful place even though this is where Trent had his terrible accident when he was in high school. Thanks for staying alive to share it with me again.

Waimea Falls (8)

Waimea Falls was a beautiful area, it had so many flowers and birds I couldn't post them...lol. We also got to see wild chickens they are everywhere on the island.
Begin the hike to the falls.
 HUGE leafs.
 Tiny pineapple.
Banana tree with bananas behind Trent.
The falls! We made it, there use to be cliff jumpers. Trent was pretty upset they didn't have tat show anymore so he went to ask why. Well I guess when we came in Jan. of 2003, sometime later that same year one of the jumpers lost his life in the show and so they stopped. That was a good reason.
It was so funny when we got here. They had life guards that you HAD to talk to before you got into the water. They proceeded to tell you that this is FRESH water so you don't float like in the Ocean it's much harder to swim, so make sure you have a flotation device!
Be careful in that FRESH water you guys! So it looks all romantic in the movie for people to sit in the waterfall and kiss and stuff....WRONG! Not romantic at all, trying to keep all your body parts from not being pummeled off and making sure you can breathe all bring the romance factor down...hahaha.
Trent jumped right in the middle of the waterfall.
After some coaching and using ever muscle I had I finally made it in the middle.
Then we walked back down and had lunch and there were these thief's walking around eyeballing your food. If you turned for half a second it was gone!
