The Elsa Princess

Grandma Rawson made good on her word of making Kylie an Elsa costume.

 She absolutely LOVES it!!!

 She even wanted me to braid her hair, hahaha, she's so funny.

Chickens Week 4

So one more week has went by and these gals have changed a lot.

Here's Feathers, Chad's chicken.

 Most of the pets I've had in my life were mostly male. So it hard for me to say "she, her" but I'm trying...lol. We really have some good girls!

 I bent down to pick some weeds and this is what the chickens did. Chad had to get a picture, he thought it was so funny.



Kylie's 4th Birthday

Kylie was really excited for this birthday. She has wanted to sit in Brian's booster seat for a long time and I kept saying, "when you turn four, you can sit in the booster". She loves the booster!

 I posted this picture because when I saw it, I was reminded of a picture of me when I was little with the same crazy smile and my hair is even a crazy mess just like hers. She looks JUST LIKE my picture!!!

 Make a wish!

 She totally loved and milked her day. All day long she would ask for 4 cookies, slices of cheese, or 4 more m&m's because you know she is 4! She really wanted all her cousins too, but we didn't really think of face time till after the fact, oops, next year...lol. She is growing up to fast. She is sweet, smart, funny, and has a fun, spunky personality that you can't help but be happy around her. We love you Kylie!!

Misc April 2014

I ask if someone would help me wipe off the table. This was not exactly how I pictured it to be, but I wont complain, I will take whatever I can get....lol.

 Trent's cousins came down with their families for Great Grandma Murray's birthday. It was so fun to see everyone and have all our kids play together. Clint decided to take a hike with some of the boys. Can you see them?

 Chad loves when they come over, he had his seat belt unbuckled and was trying to open the door to jump out as soon as we saw all the cars parked at Great Grandmas. He always has so much fun!

Batman and the dark side of the moon

So Brian begged Grandma Rawson to make him a Batman costume. He LOVES it.

 He tells everyone about it and wears it home all the time, he's so funny.

Spring Soccer 2014

So I finally have some soccer pictures, not because of me, but because of wonderful grandparents who remember their cameras...lol. Chad still loves to play goaly.

 Plays like this make his mother have a heart attack!

 He does a good job and he's getting better and better.

 He is not scared of the ball or the people that come with it.

 I guess that helps to be a goaly....lol.

 It's fun to watch him learn and grow.

 Brian is probably the most aggressive player on his team, which doesn't say much.

 He does not take the ball away from anyone, he just waits till they make a mistake and then he takes it. So his team really gets whomped on, but they are learning too.

 He's a crazy!

Soccer Time

Soccer has started again. I'm glad I have held off in putting Kylie in soccer because I'm in the car almost everyday now taking and picking up the other two from practices and games. I can't even imagine how crazy three in soccer would be like. However, Trent says next spring would be great. I think next fall or next never would be great too...lol.

 Chad is doing pretty good, he loves defense and being the goaly. I guess his coach wanted everyone to feel uncomfortable in their positions and for the first games mixed everyone up. He stuck Chad in as a forward, he made the best of it and scored the first goal of the season. That was fun and all but Chad begged his coach to be defense again and he granted his wish. I think it was good because now Chad is not scared to dribble it all the way from defense up to the forward position and take a shot if he has one. 

Brian is doing good too, his favorite part of the game is still getting the treats at the end, hahaha. Fun to see how they learn and grow! 



Chickens Grow Fast

I thought I would update the chicken process. I took these pictures last week to show how they are getting their primary feathers now. Chad and Brian's chicks are getting brown and dark brown feathers with their cream ones. Kylie is getting light brown and black with her chicks gray ones.

 They are pretty good little girls.

 Now for the best invention for chickens EVER...lol. Since I've only had them for 3 whole weeks. I was getting so frustrated with them pooping and stepping and making a mess with their water, that I went on a search for something better. I found chicken water nipples! After some trial and errors (you can attach them to almost anything), and having to "teach" my chickens how to use it, I can now say I LOVE THEM!! Fresh clean water all the time, no mess, no hassle, they are awesome. When they move outside I will use them on a container I can just fill with the hose, it will be great! 

 These pictures I took today, see how much they are already changing from even last weeks pictures. Brian's chick I think will be mostly dark brown the way things are going. Kylie's looks like it will have a light brown/yellow chest, and Chad's will be speckled with brown.

 It's fun to see how they change in just a week. I will keep you updated...lol.

New Pets / New Adventure

WE GOT CHICKS!!!

I have wanted chickens forever and Trent never has been too opposed to the idea, so when we went to cousins over spring break and they had baby chicks, well that's just like giving a baby hungry mother your baby to hold and then a couple weeks later she's expecting....same goes....lol. So a week later after talking with my handsome, most wonderful husband in the world, and the neighbors (Trent said I had to) they all gave me permission to have chicks. I was planning on just getting two, since one is really all our family needs for eggs, but they are social animals so I figured two would be good. Plans changed again, this time it was the neighbor and Trent who said, the city ordinance allows 3 chickens, so get all 3. Okay you don't have to tell me twice...lol. So I let each child pick out and name their own chick.

 And Kylie with Snowflake.

 We got them all comfy cozy. Feathers always walks around like she's on patrol making sure everyone is okay. She has pretty big wings compared to the others so I think she's the oldest. Fluffy is our whiner, she cries a lot and really loud, she always has to be cuddled up to one of the other two, and hates to be left alone, but she really loves food, so she will grow up really fast. Snowflake is really fluffy, and a sweetheart(with humans). She makes sure to keep an eye on you and what's going on around her. She makes sure she gets what she wants even if she pushes and shoves the others to get it, but she's usually really relaxed and just chills out most of the time.

 Feathers, see what I mean, she looks at you like what do you want now? She is a Golden Sex Link chicken who should lay extra large, brown eggs, about 1 a day, sometimes 2 a day.

 With Snowflake we have a debate, she was in with Araucana/Ameraucana and White Leghorns. The guys at the store couldn't even tell me what she was so after bringing her home and doing A TON of research. In which I found she is probably not a Leghorn, but that Araucana (Easter Egg Chickens) and Ameraucana are different and not the same thing as the sign suggests....lol. Of course it couldn't be easy. I guess Ameraucana's are more of a true blood and are used to produce Easter Egg Chickens. Easter Egg chickens lay eggs of different colors green, pink, yellow, etc. Ameaucana's have a high mortality rate of chicks that aren't even born because of the gene. They lay blue eggs and I tell you all this because I'm pretty sure Snowflake is an Ameraucana. One of the best signs is they have a "beard" which she does, so this is my best educated guess and I'm not 100% sure, but blue eggs would be cool. Fluffy is also a Golden Sex Link chicken so we should be getting a lot of eggs once they all grow up.

 Here they are sleeping, all tuckered out, get use to it girls, we have a busy house. Hopefully we have all girls too, if not I guess we'll have chicken noodle soup, hahaha.  



Do you want to build a snowman?

So on Sunday the 30th of March 2014 we woke up to this. Huge snowflakes, and a lot of snow was still suppose to come.

 After church while we were waiting for home teachers the kids began to beg Trent to go outside with them (I was cooking, hahaha). They finally roped him in when they all started singing the Frozen song, do you want to build a snowman. He said that's just to dang cute and he had too, lol, right, he wanted to play too.

 I wondered after seeing the struggle with the second ball how they were going to put it on? Then I saw the construction of the ramp, and how easily they rolled it up and on, plus it makes for a good slide.

 The finished snowman! Our neighbor came out and took pictures too, lol. He also came out the next day after the kids got home from school to measure him since he was starting to lean a little from melting in the sun. Snowman was still 9 feet 2 inches tall. The kids said they told everyone that their daddy makes HUGE snowmans. Yup, proud daddy, we love you! Thanks for wanting to make a snowman.
