Hey Y'all,
Friday was the Institute closing social, and so we had planned a family date night and we would not have traded it for the world. Chad captured the hearts of those who were in attendance by challenging his father in a few of the activities. The beautiful girl and the handsome little boy are the photographers who captured these intense and brutal beatings, mainly for insurance purposes just in case someone (Daddy) got hurt.
The first activity was to race from start to finish on the Institutes longest ever 60 ft. obstacle course. Chad came flying out of the final tunnel and appeared to have not even broken a sweat. Dad on the other hand, ended up rolling off the edge and taking about a 5 min. breather before heading off to the next challenge. It appeared as though he would not be able to continue but Chad would not let him give up that easy.
The second activity was the joust. This is where Chad really started to capture the girls hearts. After watching a few rounds of other students playing Chad understood the concept of the game well. I think the joust weighed just as much as he did, however was bound and determined to take dad out.
Ready! Set! Go!
Chad celebrates a 2-1 knockdown victory over his dad. Chad was really giving his dad a workout. But we were not quite finished yet. It was no time to move to the final event.
The final event was a round of boxing. In the blue corner we have Chad weighing in at about 30 lbs., standing just over three feet tall. And in the red corner wee have dad weighing in at (&%@#) lbs. "well you get the point", standing in at 6 ft. 3 in. tall. The gloves were a little to heavy and awkward for Chad to hold so as soon as the bell rang he threw his gloves off and well, you could probably guess what happens. Yes, Chad knocks his dad out in the first round. He is pretty proud of himself, and dad wanted to crawl into his bed and take a nap. Mom had decided to go to Arctic Circle to get a few courtesy cones. It was a great treat.

That looks like a ton of fun! I can't believe they fit all of that in the institue! And why didn't they have all this while I was going to school? Oh well...at least you got to enjoy it.
